(3/6/2018)

This weeks’s work:

Started by cleaning the threads on the shock absorber drop link pins.  Reduced the height of the new nuts so that split pins can be fitted.  Sprayed Vactan on rear axle and chassis in axle area around axle and spring mounts.  The following day I prepped and spayed Vactan on rear brake drums.  Completed spraying Vactan on chassis backwards from the rear axle so this is now complete and ready for red oxide primer.

Following day: Applied red oxide by spray to the chassis members from the forward rear spring mounts to the back of the bus, including the rear axle and the brake mounts.

Sprayed Hammerite smooth silver onto the rear axle and rear third of the chassis today.  Awkward to get into some places but access may improve when I start to strip the body.  Second coat, probably hammered finish, tomorrow.

Second coat of Hammerite applied by spray today.  Started machining the shock absorber link pins to remove corrosion damage.
