I started the week by grinding flat the welds on the O/S front brake back plate, then painting the remaining original part with No.1 rust beater and the new part with red oxide.   I then painted the whole thing with a coat of silver Hammerite.  In between I started to cut the left-hand thread on the two new rear brake rods and these are now about ready for the final cut.  Other matters have unfortunately intervened during the week, hence the lack of progress.
