Overall plan – minus detail

Rebuild the body one side at a time, starting with the nearside

Remove panel work and windows

Repair windows ready for refitting

Sand, preserve and paint the frame, repairing and replacing with new hardwood as necessary

Replace the outer panelwork and windows bay by bay from the bottom upwards, noting the each upper panel overlaps the one below it.

Make new guardrail to run the full length of the bus

Repeat for the offside.

Refurbish and paint cab interior

Rewire entire electrical system

Remove radiator, replace cooling fan with correct one

Repair cab exterior and adjust driver’s door catch

Paint cab exterior and dash

Refit radiator in correct position

Repair and retrim driver’s seat

Paint the exterior

Extend and fit exhaust so that silencer is behind rear axle

Refit and adjust brake drums

Refit AEC badges to axles

Replace wiring and ceiling panels

Repaint ceiling in white

Paint exterior of the bus

Work that can be done in parallel

Clean and hide-feed all the leather on the seats, including the driver’s seat back.
