Finished mounting plates for bump stops and fitted them to the axle, first item to go back on: see below
Replacement bump stop mounted on axle
This picture shows the new bump stop rubber I cast in a plasticard mould. The plates have 1/8″ spacers turned from bar and welded underneath.
Marked out the outer ring of the brake dust shields and started to cut out the middle using jig saw.

Finished welding the first flange a few days ago. Ground off the welds, one or two need redoing as the welds didn’t penetrate but not a big deal. Have requested laser-cut rings for the centre part but have had no reply on price yet. Awaiting arrival of gas bottle adaptor as ran out of CO2 the other day and replaced it with 15% CO2/Argon mix but my pub gas gauge won’t fit.
Made a template for the bump stop rubber clamp plates, they need to be cut in steel now.

Made the bump-stop clamp plates today, just need some spacers welding underneath.

Below – ready to fit to the axle. The bump stop on the left I made with two-part Urethane Shore 90. The right-hand one is the original that was still on the axle.
