Waxoyled rear of steel front bulkhead where new steel had been welded in  previously.  Drilled through holes and countersunk for 1/4″ ss screws  with nuts pressed into the frame.  Continued heat stripping of remaining paint from the bulkhead.

Over the last few days I welded in strips to rear of front bulkhead so that repair sections are supported where they meet the existing steel.  Next, I welded in a repair section below the forward facing window and the remaining piece of the repair to the front bulkhead.  Ground back most of the welds, a little left to do then need to obtain the right kind of fixings to secure it to the woodwork.  What looks like blobs of weld is in fact a trick of the light reflecting from where the weld line and nearby metal has been ground flat.
